Friday, 18 August: Fr. Peter had the occasion to make an overnight trip to Suðuroy where he celebrated Mass in a family home with a large group of parishioners, followed by a festive meal together. (Click on all photos to enlarge)
Wednesday, 16 August: Fr. Peter married Italian couple, Simone and Sonia, in a quiet ceremony in Mariukirkjan. The couple travelled to the Faroes especially for the occasion.
Saturday, 5 August: Sr. Florence animated a one day Summer Camp for the children of our parish. Several children attended. You can learn more HERE.
Tuesday, 25 July: Sofía and Hanus, two young adult parishioners departed for Lisbon, Portugal, where they participated in the World Youth Day. They went with a group of 200 young Catholics from Denmark.
They spent a week with Catholic families and parishes getting to know the region in which they stayed, followed by a week of special activities including a welcoming service, instruction, workshops and concerts, a Way of the Cross, a Vigil of Prayer and a Closing Mass presided by Pope Francis. They also participated in an optional week during which they visited the Camino de Santiago, also known as Compostela, in the north of Portugal, and the international Marian Shrine of Our Lady in Fatima (near Lisbon).

Saturday, 22 July: Deacon Christian Gabrielsen baptised baby Elona Shiloh. May God bless her, her parents and all her family.
Wednesday, 19 July: we received the sad news of the sudden death of Liezl Olsen while she was visiting her family in the Philippines. Her funeral took place in Argja kirkja on Friday, 11 August. We extend our sympathy to her husband, sons and all her family. May she rest in peace.
